Ceylan Rowe

Founder and CEO

Ceylan Rowe is the founder and CEO of the Fihri Foundation, a dedicated advocate for women's health and empowerment. Her drive to help others was profoundly shaped during her high school years when she experienced a devastating earthquake in Türkiye that claimed 17,000 lives while visiting family. This life-changing event instilled in her a deep sense of purpose and commitment to making a positive impact in the world.

Ceylan has spent years working to remove barriers for women, girls, and marginalized communities both locally and globally. She began her career at the Massachusetts Office for Refugees and Immigrants, helping refugees achieve self-sufficiency. It was there that her passion for supporting marginalized communities truly took root. Later, as a Commissioner for the MetroWest Commission on the Status of Women, she became acutely aware of the issue of period poverty, which inspired her to launch the Fihri Foundation. Since then, the foundation has provided sustainable menstrual products to women and girls in 16 countries and is continuously expanding its reach.

With a BA in Political Science and International Affairs from Northeastern University and an MBA from Babson College, Ceylan leads Fihri with a strong foundation and a global perspective. As a proud child of Turkish immigrants, her upbringing has significantly influenced her deep love for community support and humanitarian work.

When she's not working on Fihri initiatives, Ceylan is a passionate speaker and advocate for menstrual health. She's also a mom who is deeply committed to creating a better world for her children and the next generation.

Ceylan's mission is simple yet powerful: to ensure that no one is held back because of their period.
